Celebrating 30 Years 1987-2017

We've loved every minute of our journey

Victor B. Grandy

Victor B. Grandy (pictured left) was the founder and first commander of VFW Post 5061. Monthly meetings were held in the basement of a bank in the Bear Valley Shopping Center until 1995 when they purchased the building on W Warren. At that time the Post had over 500 members. They paid off the mortgage in three years. The Post had to go outside of Colorado to get the mortgage because no bank would give them a chance. The Post was able to pay off the mortgage while still supporting its regular charities.

The Ladies Auxiliary was organized in 1988. June Medina was the first president.
